Voting Day in Spokane
Tuesday was our Primary Election. Most people vote by mail-in ballot here in WA, and Kevin, being the responsible person that he is, had done the research, filled out his ballot and got it into the mail in time. I on the other hand, waited until the last minute and then found that I only had the envelope in which to mail my ballot...but no ballot. I quickly gathered Keira and Bailey and ran to our local library with 30 min. left in which to vote. Thankfully there is a fail-safe for those of us who are a little scattered. Bailey cruised the library aisles in search of bedtime stories while Keira helped me out in the voting booth by emptying the contents of my purse at my feet and eating my chapstick while I filled out the ballot and (phew!) turned it in. We were all rewarded with stickers - even my future voters who will hopefully be a little more organized than their mom.
It is with much restraint that Keira is not wearing a onesie I really would love to photograph her in -a really cute one that reads "Life-long Democrat" however, I am endeavoring to raise our girls with a mind of their own and believe that by the time they are old enough to vote, they will 1. have more party options or 2. if not choose to run for office themselves.

Lucy comes to visit
For those of you who were at our wedding - Lucy was one of the flower girls. It is so hard for me to believe that I have known her since she was barely two - TEN years have passed! She graced us with her presence last week and the following 3 posts include things we did while she was here in Spokane.

Bailey's Swimming Lesson -Day One
The Northside Family Aquatic Center is a great new pool that opened this summer about 5 minutes north of us. When it is open to the public (not closed for lessons) water is usually spraying everywhere and falling in sheets from the blue mushroom-looking thing in the center of the first picture. It is a totally interactive pool where kids have a lot of control of the water-spraying features. The water level goes from 5" (yep inches) to 10' deep with a big tube slide over the deep end. Good times are had here! Our girls love it!!!
