Bailey, our girly girl

Bailey Tubes

We had a great day on Lake Couer d'Alene with friends and cousin Angela who is visiting us this week. Bailey (who hates any kind of water on her face including in the bath) had a wonderful stroke of braveness and tubed it alone! We were so thrilled and she had an absolute blast!

Bailey

Keira

random June pictures

the following are just a bunch of random pictures from the last few weeks. Keira spends more and more time perusing the book shelf in the playroom, she loves to leaf through the pages and "read" out loud in her own at the moment language. We didn't have a real party for Keira, just a small family gathering for her 2nd birthday, I just experimented with cupcakes which she wouldn't even touch...talk about your picky eater!

Panatonne with Grande Nonna Livia (Nonnie)

Bailey had the opportunity to spend some time in the kitchen while my grandmother was visiting us from Santa Barbara. Mind you Italian-born women take food seriously and boy did she and Bailey have a grand time together making meatballs and one of the Dodero family favorites: Panetonne, an incredibly stubborn thing to make, but is a delectable Easter sweet bread that tastes like childhood to me. It was a very special thing for me to watch and photograph. Both girls grew very attached to her and miss her greatly. Keira actually asks after her calling her Nonnie Cha Cha because she quickly learned that if she asked her for chocolate she was given it pretty much immediately and Bailey has decided that she wants to move back to California to live closer to her for her cooking lessons.

Kevin's latest

Not that you can see it now, but Keira "autographed" the lower right quadrant in pen, which forced me to alter the original color and texture scheme. She's lucky she's cute.

First nice day in a long, long, long, long time

lollypops

Hospital Adventure

Thursday morning started at 5am (a serious ouch).  Keira's hospital adventure to remove her tonsils, adnoids and have tubes placed in her ears began as she walked through a little door into the pediatric surgery center at Sacred Heart. She immediately was drawn in by all the cozy coupes (complete with IV stands attached) and red wagons...not to mention all the cool toys!

After her 45 minute surgery (and a small episode of demon possession as she was coming down from the anesthesia) Keira perked up considerably especially when she discovered the abundance of popsicles available to her.
